Some questions for you guys :P

I'm currently working on much images for crowned.
So I want to ask some guys some questions if it isn't too much :x
The main "question" is the poll in this topic. The first result will maybe be the next main character in Cave Story 4, the secound result the main character of Cave Story 5. The third and the fourth result will maybe be secound characters who are playable ;P I also need a secound character for Cave Story 2 (Alltough I go with Sue I guess...)


You can choose more than one character! And its important that you keep in mind that Cave Story 4 and Cave Story 5 are in the past! And Cave Story 5 maybe be in the past when ballos powers run wild! So you can't pick "Chaco" for Cave Story 5 for example. But I'm not sure about this, maybe it's also in the "near" past of Cave Story 1.


If you choosed "Blame those main characters! I want someone different! (See the list in SP's post)" then please pick someone from this list and post it:

Jenka/Arthur/Sandaime Junior/Ballos/Chie/Halda/Annachponae/Miakid as young boys/girls or adults or the children of them or whatever you like ;P

I would like to see Sandaime Senior for example, as the father of Sandaime Junior. ;P

Or maybe you have own thoughts ;P

Well, I currently not working on KAH to be honest, I'm spriting for my mod ;P

Jack would be nice as a main character.

Oooh, and maybe have raffi as a guest appearence.

But I would still choose King over all of them. Though there would be a choice to make, King is a better character, but Spirit King is a better fighter.

1: a. Yay for KAH!
2: Haven't starting getting into mods yet, but a project to create an entire series of prequels and sequels for cave story as well as KAH sounds like a great idea and I wish you the best of luck!
3: d. Try to create hybrid styles between the other three.
4: Whaaa! I haven't played Cave Story mods *sniffle*.
5: See answers 2 and 4.
6: d. It'll feel a bit repetitive if you fight the same types of enemies throughout the game so go for some variety.
7: b & a. The surface is something that alot of people would like to see but requires alot of thought process to get it right, the same goes for any backstory, we could give you all the stuff we amassed together for the script on the surface and the backstory for cave story. Some new versions of old maps wouldn't go amiss either, and certain locations won't always stay the same over the passage of time so you need to keep that in mind.
8: c. If it is a new location, use new sprites, if it is an old location use a combination of new and old sprites.
9: b.
10: d. Glad to contribute.

As for questions 8: It's not meant for sprites it's more like if new tilesets in general are O.K. but well ;P

I meant the individual tiles in the tilesets when I said sprites.

A good start would be to use some of the unused monster sprites:
http://www.miraigamer.net/cavestory/monsters.php
and then analyse all of pixels monsters and try to have new enemies feel like they belong with the others visually. You could also create larger versions of small monsters or vice versa, but you would still need some brand new stuff.

I will have a go at creating sprites and tiles if you tell me what you are after.
