Seriously...

Why is monster X so difficult? When its weak spot opened i thought "Ohey one of these bosses" and spammed the blade to defeat it in about... 45 seconds. I'm not getting it.

He seemed not THAT bad on my 3hp run, but that's just mostly because I got stuck at the core battle and then was like "Damnit how am I supposed to do this with a polar star, blade and fireball?"

With perserverence... or anger ventalation.

 

You've gotta remember that everything seems easy in Cave Story after you've played through it a few times. I even think Hell is pretty easy, nowadays. (Unless you're trying to speedrun it... ><)

When I was first playing Cave Story, I HATED Monster X. Misery at the end was way easier, as was the Doctor's first and second form. Now, of course, they're all easy.

I dunno, I remember beating Monster X on the first try.
Sure, the giant tank taking up all the space in the hallway spooked me at first, but he was rather easier with the Lvl.3 Blade.
I've never understood why people always found him so difficult, either.

 

What i found confusing was the first form doesn't get hurt. So shooting the feet wasn't obvious, because the health bar didn't move when I did.

Try beating him without using the blade then. *shrug*

I beat him easily on my first run using the polar star.

After 10 failures, of course.

 

I beat it at my first try with 4-5 HP left. It`s interesting that I didn`t die at Monster X, but died million times against Curly, which is a much more easy fight.

 

I have only beat this game once, it took me two tries to beat Monster X. I used the best Polar Star upgrade.

 

I always thought of Frenzied Toroko as a much harder fight, Monster X went down pretty easy.
