Screen Cut-Off

I bought Cave Story+ from the Humble Bundle, but...

I'm having a problem with the top and bottom sections of the screen getting cut off from view. This makes it impossible to see my currently equipped weapon and I can't see anything at the bottom of the screen, which is making it impossible to get through Egg Corridor.

My system specs:

Motherboard: MSI 785GM-P45
CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 635 Quad Core 2.9 Ghz
GPU: Radeon HD 5450
RAM: 8 GB

And I'm playing on a tv via HDMI.

I've tried using window mode, changing the PC's resolution, forcing the game to run in 640 x 480 via properties, and changing the aspect ratio of the tv itself. Nothing is working.

Any ideas?

Eh, sorry. Considering it'd been a couple weeks since there was a reply on this board, I posted on the faster board.

Anyway, I can't figure this out and it's driving me crazy. The game is fun and I'd like to play what I payed for, but if it stays like this... :/

 

I'm pretty sure the problem is the fact that you're using an HDMI cord to connect to the TV. Unless your resolution is set to 1280x720 (or maybe 1920x1080), the TV will cut off parts of your screen.

 

Just an update. Switching the PC's resolution to 1280 x 720 fixed the problem. I can see the whole game and the control issues are magically gone. Go figure. Thanks!
