Save Ctory (Version 0.5 Beta) *THE BURLY MODE UPDATE*

Basically, all it is is the regular Cave Story, only with different dialogue, to add humor. Here's the link! (Please don't hate...Also, I WILL be updating this frequently, by adding funny dialogue to parts further into the game.)

UPDATE HISTORY/FEATURES:

0.1 BETA: Only went up to Toroko's kidnapping.
0.2 BETA: Extended the length to the beginning of Grasstown.
0.3 BETA: Extended to a little more of Grasstown, and the final boss as well. (IDK why, but what the heck)
0.3.5 BETA: Changed the title screen to say "Save Ctory"
0.3.9 BETA: Added some text to the sandzone, as well as the doctor fight...I also have finished editing half of grasstown as well.
0.4 BETA: Read the list under this list.

0.4.5 BETA: Changed the color of the polar star's fire, and changed some of the text boxes and things to different colors.
0.4.9 BETA: Changed a few more textures, more text, etc.

-Ballos is now Chuck Norris, starting at his 2nd form.
-Made a small edit of dialogue in one part.
-Added lots of dialogue in random spots in the game I haven't got to yet.
-Grasstown is 79% done, it will be 100% by the time we get to 0.4.9
-Added a little more to the sandzone
-Added dialogue to the 2nd and 3rd(either 3 or 4) Balrog fights
-Removed the japanese name from the title

Thank you. But if you want more, I have some good news. As I will be working on this mod until I have edited every single line of text in the game. So, you will NOT be disappointed.

 

How long do you think it will take you to finish it?

 

A while, but I have just released 0.2 beta...so at this rate, The complete version will be out in at LEAST a month. It will be out in a month, or possibly later. Or...maybe EARLIER :3

I can't believe we are almost at 0.4 BETA in 3 hours! I will be at 1.2 by friday! XDD

 

Some moments were hilarious, but others went a bit far for me and I didn't think they were even funny.

But overall, not bad.

 

Thank you, as I might change some dialogue to be less....'not funny' in future updates. However, from the intro up to the egg corridor, I believe all that dialogue will stay.

 

Wasn't there a cavestory mod ages ago that also edited the dialog in a hilarious way, like 4-5 years ago

A bit off-topic, but, I miss Bad Beholder.

 

If there WAS, I wouldn't know. I have been a Cave Story fan for a long time, but haven't been interested in mods that long. So, if there was, I am unaware of it, or you could call it a 'Revival'.

Weren't there 4-5 mods made in the last 6 months that edited diologue in a "hilarious" way?

 

Well...I am actually planning to make sprites look funny as well, and the first sprite edits will be in 0.4 beta, the next update. I don't know if this has been done before, but I am doing this all in my own way.

 

It was rather good, I enjoyed the dark humor in some places. I would like to see it get finished.

 

Trust me...I WILL finish this. A mod with such an opportunity will never be left behind by me. I will continue to work on this until I edit every major part of the game. Heck, the editing program is opened right now!

Okay, here's something funny for you(hopefully you haven't edited this part yet): in the area where you turn on the malco generator and Malco the robot pops up, instead of his usual "Intruder Alert! Destroy!" jargon, he could say something like "HOLY CRAP!!! STRANGE WEIRDY IN MY HOUSE!!! A FREAKIN' STRANGE WEIRDY IN MY HOUSE!!! HOLY CRA--" then gets crushed by Balrog. If thats not funny enough, well I tried.

 

Actually, I JUST did that part D: but, since I seem to approve of it a little, I WILL add that in the future at one point, unless something happens otherwise.
