Rest in Peace, Satoru Iwata

On July 11th, 2015, the president of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata died.

 

He's up there with Hiroshi Yamauchi now. May they revolutionize gaming in the afterlife.

 

Farewell Iwata. This is the end of an era.

 

So sad... This man changed my life indirectly in so many ways. I owe gaming, a big part of my life, to Nintendo, and to Satoru Iwata.


1959-2015

 

I can thank my love for 2D platformers to Satoru Iwata. The first 2D platformer I ever owned and played was New Super Mario Bros, and I loved the hell out of that game.

I believe many people old and young have been affected positively by him somehow, so bless him, and may he rest in peace.

 

While it is very sad news we should all remember what he brought to the gaming community and how many people he brought joy to and inspired. May he rest in peace.

 

Let's hope Miyamoto won't die so abruptly.

Can't wait to buy amiibo in heaven.

 

In my eyes, he will be remembered as THE Nintendo president. He was the one when I started gaming. I didn't know the difference between him and Miyamoto at one point. I remember looking at Iwata Asks just to get Nintendo news...
