• Hey everyone happy Christmas Eve we're aware of what's happened with the source code so to keep this simple absolutely don't post it on the site or use it to make mods with (it's not particularly preferable toward this end anyway) and tread lightly in general until we see how this settles, thanks to all and have a great holiday season -DT

Really catchy title, I know. 'Kay so basically, red flower goes in, raeg comes out. You can't explain that. But would you like to try? How do red flowers affect Mimiga body chemistry? What would have to happen inside a Mimiga's body for that to happen?
As always, "magic" is not an acceptable answer.

I'm going to go ahead and say that red flowers contain at least one type of steroid, but there's gotta be other junk in there too. Keep in mind that the transformation happens real fast like speed of sound.

The doctor had an underground meth lab and accidentally spilled everything onto the flowers.

I don't care if this contradicts the timeline or whatever shut up I'm right.

Remember The Invisible Man?
The pro/antagonist's special chemical makes you insane and also invisible.
Imagine that, but with muscles and no invisibility.
It seemed plausible enough in the book, no reason it should be questioned in a game.

I have never read The Invisible Man. How did the book make it plausible?

These are just theories but some things are likely:

1) The substance is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. (Otherwise it wouldn`t effect the body that much).
2) The substance passes the hematoencephalic (blood-brain) barrier. (Otherwise it wouldn`t affect behaviour)
3)
A) It stimulates the sympathetic nervous system (responsible for activities/rage), maybe suppresses the parasympathetic (calming effect).
or
B) It has an inhibitory property for nervous system in a certain way (similar to alcohol), inhibiting first the part of the brain for your inner "inhibitions" (self-control in a sense). It may cause a mess among neurotransmitters, work like a poisonous mushroom dunno
or
dunno
4) I think more like a chemical substance is the cause of the rage and not a virus or similar. Red eyes actually common under certain drug influence.
5) Can`t explain the other "magical" effects.

PCP - Angel Dust (It basically makes you go crazy) This could at least be one ingredient. The problem with a steriod is that it wouldn't act quickly enough but maybe if it reacts with something else its chemicals can react quicker
Also Crystal Meth could be used (because meth has already been mentioned)

For the sake of this thread not being filled with posts about drugs I made a theory :muscledoc:

My random theory is:
The Mimiga's digestive fluids aren't strong enough to withstand a special substance inside the flowers. Without the substance breaking apart it spreads like a disease throughout their entire body. Once it reaches the brain the Mimiga goes berserk.

One of the ingredients was an African flower that was chosen because of it's intense black petals. The plant was known by the natives to be a hallucinogen that seriously damaged your brain (PCP?), and his concentrated chemical permanently caused him insanity.
