according to my maths members of this forum have wasted approximately 10 days between everyone pressing the post new reply button when in the same situation they would have used the quick reply feature if it was available.

why is this turned off

One day, it was made so that we had to click the Quick Reply button in order to type our quick reply. We don't know who did it or why they did it or why it hasn't been changed back, because it's a waste of a perfectly good 3 seconds.

well culture let's take a look at your post count (not including those in the spot which I'm sure is probably double that or more)

as of the time of this writing: 1'003, one thousand and three posts
multiply that by three and you get 3'009, three thousand and nine seconds
divide that by sixty and you get 50.15, fifty point one five minutes
that's nearly the same as one fifth of an hour
and that's horrible

That's a lot more that one fifth of an hour.

edit: also, he probably has a lot more posts in the non-postcounted forums, so it really is horrible.

google estimates cultrs total posts at 1350.
which is 67.5 minutes or about an hour and a sixth.

That's a lot of freaking time wasted clicking a button.

I have more posts in the satellite lounge than I do in the sections where posts count. At least twice as much.

At least 2000, 3000 tops.

I always use the full editor anyway though.

The point is that the quick reply box itself is locked unless you click the "Quick Reply" button.
Which is not, if you recall, how it used to work.

Well I recall a fuss being raised about that.
Would that happen to have occurred at the same time at which auto-generated post titles were implemented?
Because in that case I advocate reverting both. I still erase my post title every time.

My guess would be that they were implemented at the same time, and I second the motion to remove both of them.

Also, @Lace:

It's an approximation, and Google's approximations tend to be inaccurate. For example, one time it told me about 1000, and on page 2, the list ended.

Yes and I agree, though removing my posttitle is an awful lot of work. :orangebell:

It's actually become a habit for me. I end up erasing titles on other things where it's mandatory..

Anyway, my assumption was that it's part of some vBulletin upgrade and not actually an option. Hopefully I'm wrong >.>

The reason you have to click was to try and prevent spambots from causing too much of a mess.

Post titles are default, but can be removed.
