Playthrough selection?

I'm already got to ending fights (Misery, Doctor, Doctor Mutated, second Core fight...), but game hasn't let me choose between easy or hard playthrough.
Does it even exist in game?
Oh yeah, I have english translate version of the game... but it doesn't change anything else than language?
And one more thing: Please, don't spoil anything!

2 things
1: the game's hard mode is chosen by your first action just before you get the booster.. if you grab it you get easy mode if you jump over past it and dont get it you get the hard mode and continue on and get the booster 2.0 later

2: look at the tribute site walkthrough for a better description and help on what to do to get and finish hard mode

1. You must meet the criteria for obtaining the Booster Jet Pack 2.0

2. You must meet ALL the criteria for rescuing Curly

*3. You must obtain the Nikumaru Counter if you wish to be timed
through the stage as a speedrun, however you can still access
the secret stage without it.

4. You need to enter the house on the balcony area (it will be
open if you’ve met the criteria) after defeating the final boss,
well normal ending final boss anyway. The real boss is inside this secret level.

lol i keep forgetting to mention the nikimaru timer even though i found that place by accident once without a walkthrough lol

 

Wait, is Sharkenaa referring to Sacred Ground (Hell) or something that increases the difficulty for the entire game? Because I was talking 'bout to Sacred Ground.
