Who else is excited for the release of paper mario 3d? I've been a fan of the paper mario series, but I enjoyed TYD and the N64 one more than the wii one. I'm just going to add a poll as well to see which are your favorites.

Re: Paper mario 3d

What exactly should justify one's decision over the other Paper Mario games if Paper Mario 3D hasn't come out yet?

Anyways, Thousand-Year Door was my favorite hands down. N64 was good, but TTYD improved upon it greatly. I didn't hate Super Paper Mario's battle system, but I prefer the turn-based RPG styled battles more.

I am really looking forward to Paper Mario 3D, I've always been a big fan.

You forgot Legend of the Seven Stars

It's the spiritual predecessor to the Paper Mario titles and also quite awesome.

Even though I like the platforming of Super Paper Mario, I felt that PM 1000 YD was much better. The most memorable part about it for me was creepy steeple. I had to go there so many times before I figured out the puzzle...:muscledoc:

Thousand-Year Door was an amazing game. I just loved it. Especially when the treasure turned to to be a
Dried Shroom.
That was hilarious.

But remember, it made huge advancements in history by proving that ancient cvilzations did eat shrooms!

In fact, it seems that they treasured shrooms. Perhaps shrooms didn't grow or spread nearly as fast back then, making shrooms a delicacy. Or MAYBE some idiot locked all his mushrooms in a chest, thinking they would cone out and kill him, and eventually, all but one decomposed completely.

EDIT: Or that idiot was actually smart, but not completely, because shrooms look like Goombas.

I do. it's just that I think TYD has more to do after you beat the game, and that it doesn't stay at the the end screen until you turn off the console. I don't see why they didn't put the paper mario series on the history of mario videos.

Funny story.
I spent about two hours looking at the end screen before I realized I had to restart.

It makes me feel really bad about myself that i've never played any Paper Mario games. They seem so awesome though. Maybe I'll pick up Thousand Year Door since you guys like it so much.

I noticed the Wii version doesn't have any votes. Should I dismiss that one entirely or give it a shot as well?

It is nice, but it takes away the RPG-stlye battles. In my opinion Super Paper Mario is a fun game, just not as good as the first two and the one to come.
