I like waffles. Not pancakes.
Toast is good too.

I dislike pancakes, but waffles are good, especially Belgian waffles.

I'm not a maple syrup man, whipped cream is better.

Hey guys, guess what.

Pancakes and waffles use the same batter. They are the same things in a different shape.

Hoho, that is where you are wrong, my good sir. While that may be the case in many a north american household, where Miss Jemima's mix serves in the iron as well as in the pan, a TRUE waffle is actually a very different recipe. If you take the time to prepare it by hand, a good waffle batter has a much sweeter flavour and lighter consistency, being the dessert pastry that it is.

Regardless, waffles are generally ALWAYS better than pancakes, both texture-wise and consistency.

The only upside to pancakes is that you don't need a waffle iron to make them, and they make less mess I think (I don't know, I've never made waffles).

However, fresh pancakes are better than toasted frozen waffles I'd say. But that's just because of how the freezing process impacts them.

EDIT: And of course...

Reminds me.
My aunt created a hybrid a few years ago.
She has one of those waffle irons with flipable plates to make sammiches and stuff (3-in-1 griddle waffle iron pannini press).
I dunno, I guess she's put one of the plates on backwards.
So a pancake with waffle divots on one side was born.
Or was it a waffle with a smooth side?
Either way, delicious. <3

Waffles aren't that popular here in Lithuania. Mostly because back in the soviet union we didn't have such luxuries. However pancakes, man we even celebrate pancake day like an actual work-free holiday here. So I go with pancakes.
