yea i've searched the forum for such and can't find any help 'cause maybe it's a basic thing to learn... but well, how do you make pitfalls? i referred to certain maps like balcony and outer wall and couldn't get how they really work.
like, where do you place that trigger thing? and must the event number be #0042?

Two things:
What do you mean by pitfalls?
Do you mean the "You were never seen again. [NOD] Retry Y/N?" thing?

pretty much a yeah. how does those events with ID below #0100 work? is there a note on this?

Open CS in Sue's, go down to the Script area below the maps and open Head. That shows what all the specified events below #0100 are. You might even be able to add new ones, not sure.

and does that mean below #0100 in certain mapscripts other than those in the 'head' are the ones that work as we enter the map?
and please answer that pitfall thingy so that this won't become much offtopic

pitfall is event 42 i think

just give a horizontal trigger event 42 --

whatever. the cased has already been closed by db with his ultimate force of gradient text. but what actually happens when the entity is not placed at the bottom of the screen? 'cause it dieses me even if i don't get pass it.

As soon as you cross the trigger, it causes the event. So if your pitfall is in the middle of the map or a place you could walk without actually being in danger of leaving the map, it'll trigger.

i assume that 'crossing' means crossing a 'line' that can be made from the spot where the entity is located? then again why do no vertical trigger occur when you place it at the most bottom?

haa? no i mean if you place in mid it can be passed horizontally or vertically. but at the bottom end, only horizontally. it's not........ fair.

Remember where I showed you that flag to get it to work? Check the first on to make it vertical.
