• Hey everyone happy Christmas Eve we're aware of what's happened with the source code so to keep this simple absolutely don't post it on the site or use it to make mods with (it's not particularly preferable toward this end anyway) and tread lightly in general until we see how this settles, thanks to all and have a great holiday season -DT

Me and my friend are collaborating to make a Doukutsu Monogatari web comic (cave story, sillys!)

The site it can be found on is cavestory.smackjeeves.com.

Check it out, and tell us what you think. I am doing the script and my friend is doing the drawing. If you like it then mark it as a favorites, because we need the popularity ratings.

Um... I dunno, it's good, but... Well, the drawings are great, I like them, but the shapes are sometimes a bit off, and the texts, um, the introduction is good, Kazuma's message is from the game (so no criticism here), but Quote seems to state the obvions rather often. Hey, I know! Make that his character trait. Just pretend that he says the descriptions aloud in the game.

I might, it depends on how he develops later.

And what do you mean states the obvious?

P.S. If you do read the comic and like it, be sure to join smackjeeves and mark it as favs, it help us show up on the front page more often.

I know right? The story is: cave story had been sitting on my desktop for awhile, and I messed around but didn't get far. I gave it to my friend as part of a whole bunch of other freeware stuff I thought he would like. He was like, obsessed with it for a week, and he did some drawings of quote and curly. His enthusiasm made me play the game again, and after beating it I was psyched. I said "we should make a comic, you already got the characters down".

He was sure that someone had did it already, but I looked and like you said All I found were sprite comics, and all of them (that I found) were retardily stupid (which, while funny, get's old after awhile.)

So we did the first few pages, put them up and the first impressions are pretty good.

I think onlineworms was replying to Jacob's "FINAL-FUCKING-LY! SOMEONE DECIDED TO MAKE A COMIC THAT ISN'T A SPRITE COMIC!" post since he was also planning a drawn comic. Plus he did a short 3-page drawn comic a while back.

Glad someone likes it!

The hat thing was something we had wanted from the beginning, and frankly my friend loves drawing it :rolleyes:

We decided to take artistic liberties with the character designs in regards to age, because...well, that would be telling ^_^;

Okay, but stay outta the pool.
It's closed.
Due to over-chlorination.

Nice comic! It's a bit rough and could do to be inked, but the pictures still come through clear so it's ok. Looking forward to more!
