N00b starting a Mod.

Hi there! I'm WarriorX, and I plan on doing a mod, but I literally phail.
right now I have a good bit of dialogue but whenever the first level loads there is no Quote and it says "You have drowned. Want to retry?"
Plz help!

 

I think its because you set the starting event as the death event located in Head script.

 

Oh. What is the starting event? Wait: I know, it's 0200. But what script?
And yes, I have looked at Kapow's TSC commands.

 

Starting event - 0200
Starting map - 0013

That means it will use event 200 from map 13, if map 13 doesn't have event 200, I dunno what will happen, think it will snag some other code.

You're partially right. It will create and play event 200 which is nothing, and go onto the next event, which there isn't anymore i think, so it may have played a random event from the head.tsc lol

I hit this snag on mine...
I thought it was because I'd removed the blocks you stand on in the First Cave, causing you to drown instantly.
*Nods*
I fixed it on mine by making map 0000 the start map, then having it run event 0001.

EDIT: This works on mine because it's a total overhaul.
If this is your first, don't mess too much up.

Add FAO to fade out and FAI to fade in.
You also need a style, like <FAIXXXX
My fav is 0004.

I mean, you do have to wriggle through 1-200 lines of script to find some things, and when you're just learning, you'd can't be sure what does what.

There is a search botton "Search for: Faid" "Search for: Destroy" "Search for: Kill" "Search for: Delete" "Search for: Create"
