Miakid? never heard of him!

Ok, I was feeling a bit bored so I decided to check out the timeline for Cave Story. I noticed that on the timeline it says something like "Miakid gains control of the demon crown, Quote and Curly fight him... he later gets defeated (but we do not know by what)

Where did this information come from? I have beaten the game a good 3 times (Wiiware, Dsiware, and PC) and the only thing I know about Miakid is that he was the crown bearer before The Doctor... can anyone help me out?

It doesn't say it anywhere in the game, out right at least.

As you said he was the Crown Bearer before the Doctor, and as we know from the game Quote and Curly came to the Island years before the game starts to stop the Crown Bearer.

So, by adding 2 and 3 together we know that Maikid had the power of the crown, fought with Quote and Curly, and then die later.

Miakid, not Maikid.

We know (from Curly when she gets her memory back) that someone acquired the Demon Crown 10 years ago, and from Booster (IIRC) that no-one has set foot on the island since.

The assumption is that this was therefore Miakid.

As for him being defeated, he's clearly not ruling the world despite clearly intending to, so something must have happened to him. We know it wasn't Quote and Curly fighting him, because according to Curly they managed to wound him but were way out of their league.

My personal theory's Balrog and/or Misery.
