Hey all.
Bit of a sappy post, and I'm sure most people are no longer around to see it, but I felt nostalgic today and wanted to come through for possibly a final time to leave a mark on a place that used to mean a lot to me. Did a quick playthrough of Cave Story today for the first time in...damn, I really don't even know. When the credits rolled, I was suddenly blasted with this sentimental feeling about this place and how much time I used to spend here. The friends I made, the brief but lovely relationship I got myself tangled up in for a while, and even the more embarrassing things like the absolutely horrendous posts my 15 (16?) year-old self used to make in The SPOT. Back in the day I was Drunken Applesauce (See what I'm doing with my current name? It's like poetry, so that they rhyme. Thanks, George Lucas.) I was shocked but mostly delighted to see this place is still here and relatively unchanged from how I remember it. So many names started hitting me too once I took a quick browse through threads. Ralren, WoodenRat, cultr1, Captain Fabulous, Sue Sockymodo, WD (I think those last two are the same person, actually. Username change? Either way, I especially hope you're doing well these days.) it was insane how vivid my memories of all these people were, despite them having been tucked away in the back of my mind for over a decade.
Ultimately, I think I just wanna say I'm really happy to see this place is still here. If any of you are still kicking around, I sincerely hope the best for you. I hope life has gone in a good direction for you, and that you're happy wherever you're at. Oh, and to GIRakaCHEEZER, sorry about my absolutely HORRIBLE introductory thread and the chaos it caused in like...2010? 2011? Teenage me didn't wanna swallow their pride and apologize for that one for the sake of the bit, but I'll do it now, 14 years later. Lmao.
