Interesting Question...

So, my friend and I were thinking about making a new Hell mod where instead of you playing as Quote with Curly on your back, the game automatically controls Quote and you shoot with Curly! Is this even possible?

how would it you have control over what happens. most of the time the enemys coming would hit you and you would not be able to control the gun to well. unless you will make the gun either in all directions eg. upleft down right....etc
and or be controled by the mouse :confused:

Well, I know that I was thinking about having her be able to shoot in the four directions, while having Quote basically work around everything coming from the front, which would probably be considerably difficult considering that the falling blocks in Hell2 are random, but I'd certainly like to think it'd be possible.

Well, I think it'd be extremely difficult, since you'd have to code the computer-controlled Quote's AI to be able to maneuver around the level, which would take some seriously advanced AI.

So yeah, it's possible... if you're a professor of AI at Oxford.

You don't really have to be an expert or anything. All you need to do is disable the random rocks, make some planned rocks fall (If you do go through with this that is something you should be able to do), and then program a pre-set path. Enemy behavior is generally predictable enough that you'll get similar results every time. Oh, and you'd have to make it so that if Quote is hurt by anything it doesn't alter his path.

also you would have the start of it when curly wakes up right?

You could probably have it stop where Quote finds Curly and have a little mini-sideuqest where you play as Curly who takes a little separate path that leads down there and is knocked out by a rock or something.

do you mean actually have the whole story of curly up to the end
like maybe a fight with misery before she got tossed down the labrinth...and so on?

i finnaly got around to checking this game

they just swapped the quote sprite with curly..... :mad:
