This isn't exactly a new idea but I haven't gone through with it earlier because it would be a horror to maintain constantly updating mod downloads. The idea of allowing modders the power to edit their mod's page can allow the posting of inappropriate content or malicious links. The links themselves will likely die at random one day due to the popular use of file hosting sites. Allowing users to upload files themselves? You have no idea how big a security risk that is. I would need to be able to moderate everything that goes on the site either way, which brings us right back to the maintenance issue.
My idea is to simply have a writeup on the mod, a few screenies, and a link to the mod's thread on the forums. This means that short of a mod moving to a new thread each mod's page will last for the life of said mod. Though if the mod is considered finished or is most likely not going to be worked on anymore then I can add the mod download link to the page with the thread link.
I would like everyone's opinion on the matter.
Though if you guys approve I would like to see most of you contribute some text for a mod's page. It could be your mod or someone else's, but either way I need a writeup on a mod before I can make a page.
