The bat's a resprited critter from what I can tell.
The ladder was a bit creative, since it used the natural "slope glitch" (seen in CS slopes from underneath the slope) to throw you to the top of the ladder.
Not too bad, but's it's far from a mod yet o: .

Bat wasn't resprited, it's just a critter. Wrong sprite set and whatnot.
It wasn't meant to be a mod. It's just something I noticed and thought to do. It seems pretty cool, and I think it would be helpful for some other modders.
It's more of a toy.

Only problem with really short range is that it lags behind Quote when he's running. Also that ladder idea is pretty cool 
I think it might look more realistic as a boost pad of sorts though. Does anyone know if it works horizontally, or if you can change direction with it, like

No, it doesn't work horizontally. I've tested this many, many times. I made one mod. Well, I sort of did. I didn't get too far, and I don't want to continue until I begin to grasp TSC more. Anyway, when you try it sideways, you either can't move through without Booster v2.0 moving sideways, or you just walk through it like a one-block passage.
I've actually been testing this for a while. I asked in an old mod thread somebody posted and someone (I think Fabulous) "It's just some stupid noob move," so I thought everyone already knew about it and had already gone through this and seen what you could do.
