Going Fullscreen hangs Windows 8 (x64)

I'm experiencing this odd Cave Story glitch. Whenever I try playing it in fullscreen, the game never starts and it hangs on a black screen. Why does this happen? I can play it Windowed just fine. :confused:

delete the file called "window.rect" and retry

if nothing happens try full 24 or full 32
