Game Grumps and Steam Train

I suppose these guys and their other shows I haven't directly mentioned kinda warrant their own thread considering their popularity.

Also Steam Train is starting their Lets Play of Cave Story itself. How fitting. Already about 150,000+ views on part one. They've never played the game, which I am loving considering Pixel himself stating a game is best played when you know nothing about it. They may be doing Easy Mode, but I can forgive them for that. I'm certain they're gonna get the Normal Ending though, because don't deny it, that was your first ending too (The Hero's End doesn't count, there's no credits on that).

Aside from that though, what have you guys seen of and thought of them anyhow? They're certainly popular and were around long enough to at least warrant one view from you guys.

I've watched a few of their videos before, and they seem pretty interesting. I'm not the type to normally watch commentary videos though, so meh. I might watch the Cave Story ones since it IS cave story and all, so yay regardless ^^

 

Haven't seen Game Grumps since JonTron was still in it (more specifically, part 9 of Sonic '06). This may be interesting for me to see.

Notes:

- Once they finally reach Toroko and hear her story about the Doctor, they find out early on that this game is 'super serious'.
- IT'S TIME TO DANCE (WITH BALROG)
- Balrog's a Toaster in their eyes
- Doritos for everyone
- They get the Map System and declare their love for the game already due to its Dance Music and snuggly art style
- Kanpachi is referred to 'that fishing girl'. We still haven't completely R63'd Cave Story yet.

Also it seems as if they're breaking out Gamefaqs or something for this game. Spent time trying to look for the Map System after finding out the Map key didn't work at first. Hopefully because of that, they'll get the Good Ending. Maybe. Unless they get stuck in Hell.

I, too, don't watch Game Grumps all that much, and nothing that isn't Sonic 06. I'm used to Egoraptor with JonTron...but I guess I'll give this one a looksie! Really, there's still a lot of LPs that could prove interesting...guess I have quite a few hours of mindless entertainment ahead of me. ^_^

Also, I can totally see why they'd think Kanpachi is a girl.

 

I thought Kanpachi was a girl at first also, but I think they also thought Mahin was a girl.

 

well mahin does have the biggest breasts in the game

- They figure out those red flowers in Arthur's house are the deadly ones mentioned in part 2. (I just like it when they actually talk to folks and pay attention despite their hijinks)
- Behemoths are now Elephants
- Quote stands idly by and lets Sue the Mimiga BOY be kidnapped by the Mimiga version of the Cheshire cat/Dinosaur Man ( "Alright we gotta rescue that guy for short." )
- "Your blonde pal? Oooohhh, there's some forshadowing about amnesia."
- Reading helps them find out that they need to find an ID Card in the eggs. Also Laser Walls can't be destroyed with missiles. Damn.

 

I wonder how they'll react the time that the "boy" is actually Sue.

Nah they take breaks from series' for a while usually.

Like regular Grumps and Wind Waker, that's on Hiatus. I think Ross and Danny want to do CaveStory justice the same way Danny and Arin wanna do Wind Waker justice, so when they pick it up again, they won't fumble about as much as they did.

 

Hopefully that's the case...
