I just discovered that you can make several different-looking destructible blocks by simply blanking the graphic in npcsym.pbm... Is this new at all and if not, why isn't it mentioned anywhere that I can find >.>

Well the graphic for the star block is stored in NpcSym.pbm at 256,48, but I'm not sure what you mean by 'multiple', no.

You know the blocks marked with an SN in some tilesets? Those will be replaces by those Star blocks (destructable) in NpcSym.pbm. If you colour the whole star block with black however, youc an then create custom destructable blocks by editing the SN blocks in the tilesets so you c an have different looking star blocks for each differing tileset.

Oh really? Sweet.

And looking at my earlier post it seems I misunderstood the question completely. My bad ._.

doesn't this technique bug? When you destroy the block, there won't be a change, will there? If theres a crate texture, you can shoot it, but it won't change, except for the fact that you can walk through it.

In your Prt tileset, put it like this:

X1 X2

X1 being the tile you want to see after destroying the destroyable tile, X2
X2 is the tile you want for destroying
