Join Quote once again as he wakes up in a mysterious room, stripped of his weapons and items in a mod that takes place in an alternate version of Cave Story that takes place 5 years after the events of Cave Story where Quote lost to the Doctor, a world plunged in darkness.

This is my first mod, an attempt to get me into the programming game in a pretty straightforward, hypothetical sequel to the original.

Yes, I know. My brain is very original. But the mod is not so much about the story itself but the content inside of it, a completely new version of Cave Story that players can enjoy, much like the praised CS mod Jenka's Nightmare.

I'll have a demo up and running soon, as soon as the first area of the game is finished up.

Dāku Monogatori might be what you are after. The "Monogatori" part means "story". Otherwise it sounds like "dark desert" or "turtle" (according to google). Of course I don't know Japanese or the base characters used, but it seems wrong to me.

Really? I used Google Translate and apparently Dark Story is one word in the Japanese language. Of course, this is Translate we're talking about. I could be wrong. Thanks for the suggestion, though! I'll definitely be sure to look into it.

Just.. don't include Darkutsu Monogatari in any vote. It is a joke suggestion.

Kura Monogatari might work too (暗物語).

 

STATUS UPDATE: After some technical stumbles, progression is back underway!
THINGIES I'VE DONE:

• Added music (Gestation and Seal Chamber)
• Map transitions now fully implemented
