I've occasionally seen some posts that have spambots on them and they all say something along the lines of:

"I recently got into this game called Cave Story. It was developed by the Japanese gave developer, Pixel over the course of 5 years. Have fun playing!"

So what would anyone have to gain from it. Clearly they aren't advertising anything paid, they are just spamming. So if they want money, how would the spamming give them any?

or is it just to annoy people?

Annoyance is the key to controlling the world, one step at a time.

Spambots are what we use in this game. Whoever first sees a spambot must shout SPAMBOT in their chat groups and link their page or thread before they get removed.

some spambots attempt to circumvent restrictions on new users by posting a few "innocuous" posts by scraping content from old threads. If their posts go unchecked they may later edit their signature with links and have a better chance of remaining undetected

I still think having a short 3 question quiz about Cave Story would be a nice feature on the registration page.

Like Quute? But seriously, the spambots are everywhere. They invaded my email for a week. It was a horrible surprise when I saw 50 messages that said the exact same thing.

The idea is that spambots don't actually want to look like a spambot, so they "try" to make on topic statements before they eventually post their annoying adds.

From what I can tell spambots are not created for advertising, or to annoy people for the sake of it. The whole point (by my reasoning) is to post links to other websites from existing reputable websites for the increase this grants in pagerank. Essentially the whole thing is just another way to cheat at ranking in Google.

Why don't we just Print Screen it instead? That would be better and people wouldn't have to rush to see it.

The whole print screen process takes longer, though. Like you have to paste it onto a blank canvas on Paint, and then save it, and then upload it on Imgur, it's a total mess.

Just press home and PrtScr and then put it in a special place in your gallery. Then you won't have to deal with them being taken down, or loosing your account for being inactive. (Note that home and PrtScr combo may only be on windows eight, but you should find them in the pictures main folder under screen shots.)

Actually, only Print Screen works on Windows 8. Unless you have a weird keyboard. Also, your gallery in the forums isn't the only place where you can upload photos.

I know, but I prefer it. It's much simpler for me.

or use any screenshot system that is actually a faster way of doing any of this
idk tho
I mean there can't be a better way of uploading screenshots than printing your screen, cropping it and then uploading it
there's just no way
