Control Errors

My "X" button, or attack, doesn't work... but Z, Q,W,S,A all work fine.
I've tried the DoConfig, no change.
Using the English Patch version on a Windows Vista Computer (:

You might need a weapon first. Go to the hermit gunsmith's cave at the bottom of First Cave and get the Polar Star from the chest. Now try the X button.

Anyways, I think this thread might deserve a Facepalm.
But, I'm sure several other people at this forum thought the same thing, at the beginning of the game.

It's ok, it happens all the time on low amounts of sleep.

The controls didn't work at all at first, which was why I was rather dubious after the Z finally worked but the X did not.
Also, the game seemed to have less "lag" (ran faster) the latter times I tried it, which also made me think that after I installed the English patch and played with the DoConfig settings I might have changed something I wasn't aware of.
