Well, my friend just got me in to this game today, and this is what I've made so far. He wanted me to make a save anywhere hack, but I got distracted with the simple stuff first :D Anyways... Here's what it does:

F5 = Full Heal
F6 = +1 to Max Health (Obviously can be repeated. Just hold the button down :D)
F7 = Cycle Weapon Level
F8 = Cycle Weapon
C = Toggle Invincibility :p Well, have fun :p I'll see what I make tomorrow...

Download: http://g0t0.info/Cave.Story.trainer.tRUE.zip

EDIT: Oh yeah, use it on the translated version of Cave Story.

As far as I know, Cave story has the option to save anywhere built-in.

Edit: Here's to activate (or de-deactivate) it:
Change
Code:
ff 15
at address 12d58 to
Code:
eb 04
in Doukutsu.exe

Ah, using that info, I made it a hotkey now. So pressing 'D' will save the game :D Instead of doing that stupid popup thing asking you where to save, it'll jsut save over your normal save file.

BUT when you save during a boss fight and load your game, the boss fight is still on but the boss metre vanishes. =/

And how exactly do you save then in-game? I am playing a mod of Cave Story and therefore i can't use the exe with the hotkey.

Look for "Debug save" in the menu bar, click on it and enter a file name. Have in mind that Cave story only loads "Profile.dat" when you load a game, so if you want to load your debug save, you either need to save as "Profile.dat" or replace "Profile.dat" with your debug save.

Then don't use them D:. No one is forcing you to use these, and what seems fun to you may not be fun to someone else.

Thanks man, kinda only played in fullscreen-mode, so I didn't see it. It really IS very useful; but if you save on a position, where usually a critter spawns, you are done ^^.
