Alright, after an extensive search, I have failed to find the min. system req's for CS.

The only reason why I'm interest is because of my current home computer, being of a most ancient type, has SIGNIFIGANT trouble running Cave Story (unless you like CS á lá slow-motion).

The only real issue is that, well, it makes the gameplay really hard waiting 30 seconds to land a jump.

Anywho, I'd like to know so I can know what to upgrade.

Peace.

I think you're quite fortunate to have a computer that runs CS in slo-mo. It would make doing a minimal run quite a lot easier!

But if you really must, I'll post some of the stats of my Windows ME computer (Ol' Reliable), who runs CS quite well, despite my major lockup "experimentation" with a certain file on Eye of the Beholder II.
Code:
667 MHZ Intel Celeron Processor
(My dad heard these types of processors "Were c***". The irony is that ALL of my computers have a type of Celeron processor!)

20.00 GB Hard Drive
(I don't know if this plays a vital role, but I've heard computers get slower if they don't have as much free space on the Hard Drive. That may be a misconception, however... Mine has 1.83 GB remaining, anyway.
Fun fact: Over 2 GB is taken up by WAV file music for Streets of SimCity & SimCopter!)

64 MB SDRAM with up to 11 MB allocated to Video Memory
(I just barely meet the requirements for a certain source that has a certain gal I've mentioned a few times elsewhere, but I'll shut up now...)

Not sure if any other stats matter, however. This information was extracted from the front of the "Tower" (Where the drives, wires, etc. are) of the computer, by the way.

You could always just upgrade everything. That always helps in the longrun.

DragonBoots, your computer may have a software problem rather than a hardware problem. Cave Story barely take any system resources. Disable Hardware acceleration for the sound card. Update the graphics card, sound card and even the motherboard chip-set drivers.
Ensure that the sound card doesn't share the same IRQ with the video card This problem has been fixed now days with new technologies that prevents such stupid problems. (The PCI Express and the HD sound interface "AC97 is the old sound interface developed by Intel" is two of them. Google for it)

Look under Manual.html in your Cave Story folder, the min requirements are there.

I've yet to check.
Though I do know that the system itself appears as "Generic Computer" in the hardware manager.
Roffle.
No-Name Brand (R) computer.

If many stuff are "I don't have a name!" then you already have detected the cause of your problem. (Very crappy hardware)

Once I was learning how to drive with a driving teacher. He was talking about his comp being broken so I asked him what kind of processor does your computer has? He said "Umm....I don't know.....1000 MHz Chinese processor..".
There is a high chance that 1 GHz Chinese processor isn't faster than an old 500 MHz AMD Duron or Pentium III.
