Can't get past the title screen.

Hello,

I haven't found an answer to my problem anywhere, so I finally decided to annoy you.

After launching the game, on the screen where I am supposed to press the "Z" key, I cannot do anything.
But I do have music and I can interupt the scene before by pressing the big "enter" key (the "enter" on the numerical pad doesn't work).

What I find really weird is that I played the game on this same computer 2 months ago (I don't remember doing any modification, anyway I would have been able to do it again), meanwhile I reinstalled Win7[64 bit], but I have the same softwares and drivers as before.

To troubleshoot a bit, I tried launchign the game with steam : same thing minus the music.
With/without gamepad, with/without keyboard doesn't help either.

Again, I need to ask for help for the game to start working.
If anyone is interested : I deleted all files again, choose compatibility mode WinXp[Sp2] (nothing new),
but then I could use the "W" key to enter the next screen, my keyboard is an azerty one and shifting to qwerty mode is the first thing I do in this kind of problem.

I checked the controls and all were not set.

But now I have a new error : LoadLibrary failed with error 998 ...

It sounds like the error extends beyond Cave Story
I'm not sure we can help you
