Is there a way to change the dimensions of mychar.pbm

what i mean is im making a sprite but its impossible to make it fit into how small Quote is, it has to be bigger. Cant i make cave story use bigger sprites for the main character,

Like
if i set main character sprites to be in
npcBllg.pbm (Ballrogs sprite)
then i could have my main character bigger

it may seem complicated but someone clever may be able to help

You could change the framerects for mychar.pbm, and then rearrange the spritesheet accordingly. However, if you do that, you'd also have to change the hitbox. However, if you do that, you'd get stuck in 1x1 tunnels, so you'd have to change the size of the map tiles, and redraw every one of those. However, if you make everthing like that, then it's going to look really zoomed in, so you'd have to somehow change the display of the entire screen to some higher resolution. So, yea, possible but not exactly feasible if you get my drift.

Although, if you were to put enough work into it, there's no reason you couldn't make Cave Story look 16bit, like the Wii version...

Right only reason i want to do it is because im making a cave story mod called sonics story. the name gives it away,
sonic is hard to make the same size as quote.
Could anyone help?

Do you know exactly how much bigger you want the sprite to be? 'Cause if it's not much, then you don't really need to bother changing the hitbox like Noxid said. Another thing you might need to change is the placement of the gun. If you're not careful, it might end up looking like Sonic is shooting stuff out of his dick.

the sprites not that much bigger

i could make it the right size,
im good at pixel art but i just cant seem to get sonic look good at that size

Maybe you could systematically corrupt parts of the exe with a corrupter utility until Quote's hitbox goes out of whack, his sprite contains things that it shouldn't, or his sprite is missing things? After you have found the approximate location of the data you can have an easier time finding and changing it.

I know where the offsets that declare quote's hit box and size box are. They aren't the same as the frame rects, so I'll have to find that later. I'll post what I have later (I'm busy right now D: sorry).
