Ballos Halloween Sprite

I just notice something. The Ballos sprite in Halloween it look a lot to Astaroth (the final boss of Ghost 'N Goblins)

I'm pretty sure this was intended by NICALiS.

I see the similarity... but Nicalis was probably just referring to that game. Or maybe Nicalis (corporate, not dev team) didn't know, and someone in the art department wanted to put that in as an easter egg.
