I was trying to change the icon that shows for the exe. So the best idea I had: Use the file that came with a program that got canceled years ago!

I fixed it with Cave Editor. AND THEN! I went and deleted all of the code in the EXE file using ResHacker.exe (Resource Hacker. It allows the changing of executable files.) So now I have to re-extract the exe from the zip!

I tried opening the .pbm uneditied in Paint.Net and it said it was an invalid file.

(The problem occured with the Pre-Patched English from the main page and the Curly mod from http://www.cavestory.org/forums/threads/1174/ which works fine when I take away my edited mychar.pbm) I assume I screwed something up when saving. I saved as a 24-Bitmap pbm file. Which is what the game...

I actually just downloaded it from some random YouTube link. And it just happened to work perfectly.

I actually did make backups of the files luckily, and I guess I'll try using GIMP.

I was editing graphics from Cave Story Plus, trying to more or less make a mod of it. And I after editing ItemImage.bmp the items don't display correctly. And I tried naming it as itemimage.png and rename it to the .bmp file but that kept the game from loading. Does anyone know how I could fix...

Can't wait for the release.
