Update on my previous error. steps to fix it.. grab a new exe replace your old one. open the exe using CE reorder the maplist to mimic your previous exe. done! ___ For some reason I'm getting a new error, one of my PXE files that I tried to copy and paste into my new exe gives me a error when...

Don't know of a game that is similar to CS (even barely) and that is open sourced?

I'm looking for the CS source code to one day make my own game learning from the source code. If it hasn't been released can someone link me to a similar source code for a game similar to CS?

Re: Well, this is going to be fun... I use CE. Latest version.. Something is wrong with the EXE. I copied the EXE to the original CS and it appeared fine.

Re: Nostalgia I'm not sure what I did... which is in part why I am asking. The only thing I might recall is I changed the order of the maps and added a few new maps to my list... but im not entirely sure if that was what caused it.

Ok, I'm not sure why but the background images in cave story stopped working. The background just appears as black for all of the maps, but I don't know why... Maybe this is a bit hard to expain... so usually there wil be some image in the back and you can tell it to do stuff like scroll fast...

Oh yeah sorry about that. For now I'm just using King's journey as a template since the actual cave story is annoying to deal with.. you know the pixel written in hex on every file and the files not being bmps.
