I don't think it's working on any PC build that's publicly released, actually (or Linux/Mac for that matter, if that's what you're going to ask next).

IIRC the Cave Story+ recording/playback feature on Steam is a bit broken. I think it helps if you do every run fresh (i.e. without dying and then retrying).

The game handles movement in frame chunks though. So there isn't an easy way to interpolate frames. As noxid said, a frame is a frame.

Wasted space != more optimized. A lot of the "garbage" you can clean up is actually just the compiler making proper use of the processor pipeline to speed things up.

I think the black circles do 2 damage, but misery herself does only 1. So if you want to abuse invincibility frames then slam yourself into her body.

Well maybe you could see this as a way to step outside your comfort zone, instead of relying on the same crutch for every mod you make. Is it anyone's fault that you haven't dedicated time to learning other skills besides ASM? Should you not take this opportunity to sharpen those other skills...

For this project it was actually mostly programming and level building (grunt work). I came in near the end of development to help push the final parts of the game to completion.
