Er... its all a matter of opinion, really. Most will agree with me that the Spur (Charge Shot as you call it) is miles ahead of the Machine Gun in terms of almost everything. But if it's your first playthrough, I highly recommend sticking with the Machine Gun till the end (play the easy ending...
