I think you are better off using #0A0A0A (or 10.10.10 if rgb), it's what I often use for non-transparent black. #010000 is still too dark to not be transparent.

Using #010101 may or may not be transparent depending on wether you use fullscreen or not. That's what I noticed.

If you have never played it yet, then I would very much recommend the game OFF. It's pretty unique, although old.
