    The Music-making Game

I think we have a new entry for this game Or at least, sort of. We took a few turns over IRC last night; GIR was the most recent participant. Lace was the initiator. "Electica" http://www.mediafire.com/?wrc6bvbvfcqdbdz

7xxxxxx is system libraries and means either a) you're wandered off into the kernel or DDRAW b) the game stopped running c) you're using a 64-bit OS in which case you need OllyDbg Version 2

Yes, yes it should. Sometimes I type something then rephrase it halfway through and forget to proofread. I don't really care though :droll:

Woodenrat's just being.. umm... uninformed. It's perfectly possible to read the assembly code line by line and understand it and I do this all the time. http://www.cavestory.org/forums/forums/29/ Try looking at the thread titles and you might find one that says "guide" and "Assembly"

A rival in *what* ...don't answer that.:orangebell: Anyway, yes, an intelligent patcher would be nice, but that seems a bit excessive to me. As long as you know where you're putting things and properly plan ahead, there should be no issues. It doesn't have any consideration of what the...

It is in fact, the best way to do it. If you've ever tried to write large hacks, you'll understand why. Being able to make minor adjustments in something already written without having to rewrite half your work is a blessing to the field of CS hacks.

xvi32 - just change hex values (useless??) ollydbg - write assembly, look at ram (invaluable) Doukutsu Assembler - Translates .txt files containing assembly to hex and can also automatically patch the .exe with said hex (very handy) The programs are all different and do different things. To...

You feed your horses fish? Also xvi32 is only needed for extremely specialized applications, you should get by with Olly and the Doukutsu Assembler if you're serious.

Probably others yeah, but those are the only ones I know about / can remember presently. Also, I agree with Lace's statements wholly. Give a mimiga a fish and it'll eat for a day. Teach a mimiga to fish and it becomes an object of worship.

    445. It works as such <CMU0123 the value is ('0' * 1000) + ('1' * 100) + ('2' * 10) + '3' But, when the char values are taken it subtracts 0x30 so '0' is 0 and so forth this is why -ve values work

    Post your PxTone creations!

The tempo is intentionally a little bit higher, I'm trying to find a hybrid between the "Slow" regular one and the "Hyperactive" one I used in my mod more recently. The other instrument is supposed to be a harmonica, or something like that. I can change it if it's no good though..

King: Strife and Sacrifice (AKA King's Story)

I actually *am* going to add rain to a scene late in the game >.> It will be different though. And, technically speaking it's not impossible to outsource the rendering, I think, but it would be a lot more work than I made it out to be. As well, I am actually not really partial to 3D graphics in...
