you use "join game" with any of your existing characters (or create a new one for the server, idc) and then you are playing on the server. you can chat and play the game like normal but with other people.

I know. The puzzle is a bit problematic. At the suggestion of one of the testers I added a small compass arrow to the minimap, but I guess that didn't help as much.
