    SPOT Discussion

Oh, and to answer my own question, currently posts count everywhere except satellite, spot, and forum games (they do count in media). In my new suggestion, the serious forum would probably count too.

Eh, if I only get one request, I'll save mine until I come up with something better.

    PLEASE HELP ME!?!?!

Or if it's been more than a few days since your post, double posting might be okay, so that the thread is marked as having a new post and people actually read what you said.

Write a mandelbrot set renderer in the programming language of your choice. Also, shouldn't the thread title be "Resquests for Noxid"?

Yeah, because every time you double post a kitten killing God, Noxid masturbates a puppy.

    SPOT Discussion

Oh, phooey  Eh, the main thing that was annoying me was that people kept making serious threads in the SPOT, when I was under the impression that that was what the Satellite Lounge was for. Here's an alternative idea: rather than have the less serious forum be a subforum of the...

    SPOT Discussion

I would say yes. It's silly, but it does have a topic. My thought is that the SPOT would be for things that have no topic, or for sections of on-topic threads that have gotten wildly off topic to be moved to. I would say the only condition for something to be worthy of the Satellite Lounge...

What would be the world like in 50 years?

What? I hadn't even heard of that >_>. Unless you're referring to the whole neutrino thing in which case: QFT If you're referring to the fact that relativity (of which E=mc^2 is part) is incompatible with quantum physics, then that's nothing new - we've known that for almost a century.

Oh, and I also meant to mention another thing in my bit about my own music theory education. I was also taught about the 7 modes at a pretty young age (around 4th-5th grade, as I recall).

    SPOT Discussion

Indeed. Also, after reading through the posts in the old thread, apparently andwhy also suggested stopping SPOT thread creation and having one sticky thread for dicking around. Seeing as there was no dissent to this idea (there certainly wasn't any "hissy fit") I have to wonder why it wasn't...

    SPOT Discussion

How about this - we disable new threads in the spot, and have a single stickied thread there for random dicking around (since all those bbqpizza-like threads are pretty much identical, and there's no reason to have more than 1)? That solves the problem without restricting people's ability to...

Tually, we had a test in MDT class today, which I breezed through, so I have more free time than expected. So, as I was saying, consider the seven modes all starting on the same note (let's go with F) like so: F lydian is, of course, all white keys starting on F. Notice that, with each...

    SPOT Discussion

Disable creating new threads in the SPOT? All of the threads created in the SPOT are either threads like these, which are neither spam nor off topic, and don't belong in the SPOT, or this kind of thing, which probably shouldn't even be created at all. I propose that the SPOT should function...

In that case, no, that is not one of the meanings. One use of a slash is to indicate the inversion of a chord. For example, if you said a chord was a D chord, that would imply that it has a D in the bass and at least one F# and A somewhere else. This is called root position. If the chord...
