As I said, it has already been ported by ufo_z, NOT VARIANT. I have been playing ufo_z's port and I am currently up to defeating Undead Core, it is FULLY playable, and is so much cooler on PSP.

I think he was referring to the PSP port that ufo_z put together. Here is the demo that he sent to Pixel. This is release candidate 1 which is the full game working (start to finish) on the PSP. The final release will fix the any graphical glitches and add support for multiple profiles.
