I can confirm that they've updated their logo in the title screen in this version. Not sure yet about the copyright date(s) in the credits. I do wish that they would have gone ahead and fixed that screen cut-off problem in this version, it's a bother to set the EXE to run in 640X480. Oh well...

Yeah, that's pretty much my position as well, not sure why you believe this is the opposite of the opinion that I just expressed. I was mostly advocating for the lvl 3 blade as an option for a beginner who hasn't yet mastered using the lvl 2 blade at its full potential.

I believe we've seen this phenomenon before. If this is that same thing, then try looking in "C:\Users\(Username Here)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Cave Story Deluxe\CaveStory" and see if it has profile.dat inside.

Yeah, I've always found the level 3 blade to be useful when fighting Monster X. The challenge there is to not get hit and level down. But then again, if you know what you're doing, the level 2 blade can be a very useful tool in getting rid of those shooter things.

I decided to go ahead and give this mod a play, and I have to say I've enjoyed it. I like the main menu background art, the menu has a nice style to it. I loved how you can get the "bad" ending early on by just going straight to bed and not helping Curly out. That epilogue gave me a good laugh...
