Hmmm... I was thinking about something like Ralren's idea, too, but with all the mods out there, getting all the characters into a single one would be kinda tough... Though, Runelancer had a thread talking about having more than just two playable characters, which would require some Assembly...

Modify a sprite sheet. You could replace all of Jack's sprites with critter animations, save the file as something else, and then load that in the slot instead of the standard sheet, and Jack would look like a critter.
