... The whole mod is that you play Cave Story as per normal just that the Blade has no range? Bad idea. --- Just learn some hexadecimal and you can easily edit the range with a hex editor.

A graphic editing program? The most basic would be: Microsoft Paint (Automatically comes with your Windows computer, but if you use a Macintosh, I don't think it has any basic graphic editor. Alternatives would be: Photoshop (Needs to pay), Paint Shop Pro (Needs to pay), GIMP (free of charge)...
