I tried using Fraps with the freeware version Cave Story a while back and it worked fine. I don't think I had to change any settings.

I got two copies of One Way Heroics, which is a very nice game which I recommend to anyone who likes RPGs and Roguelikes even though I don't play either of those much. It is a good game.

The differences between X and Rock are way too small to convey in a simple sprite change, which is probably part of the reason why X has a larger sprite. The only part that I really think he could change to look like X is maybe the helmet.
