What you fail to realize is that it is entirely possible to get to Berserk Core with less than 127 HP. Thus, the boss possesses the ability to instantly kill you with projectiles that blend into the background of the arena.

But you need to get really close to the middle in order to damage the Core, and combined with water physics this makes it really hard to dodge anything.
