Eh, perhaps. But don't give too much away, and perhaps have a negative impact after using a hint - To stop abuse of the system. Maybe something dumb like it only runs using the same oil Quorte or whoever the main character is runs on, and so he has to damage himself every time he uses a hint...

Also the sprite's cracked eye is a weird shade compared to the facepic. I'd recommend trying to make them the same.
