Oh, yeah. Then maybe it needed an extra map because Balrog was decided to be added into the scene, and the script was cut-pasted into the new map's location, so he wouldn't need to retype it.

Misery would still need a separate tile set, so my theory still holds. Anyways, Balrog was added to the scene likely to have some comic relief, and to make the game more fun. That was Pixel's goal, so it makes sense.

It may be because he was developing it, when he realized that the tilesets would need to be set to Balrog and Misery. Rather than go through hell to fix this, he just made a separate map. I belive this works with Arthur's house as well. I just figured this out as soon as I saw the question, so...

I honestly think it was mostly luck and a lot of start overs, identifing patterns, staying on the paths as much as possible, and doing the least amount of grinding possible. If I encountered an enemy, it was because I needed to kill that very enemy.

The hardest acheivment I've managed to acomplish was beating LoZ 2 without losing any health on an actual NES. It took me 7 months to do, and I'm never doing it again. Ever.

Hey, I may be a bit late on this, but the Jack-in-the-box was technically the first jumpscare game. They can be pretty freaking creepy sometimes, and at night having them jump out at you, along with a loud spring noise, can make many young children cry in fear.

Have them all check if the other bosses died on death, and just make them animate at the same time. It's quite easy and hard at the same time, depending on if you want custom events to happen if you kill bosses in a certain order, or just having the script check if they all died and nothing...
