    When replacing a .org, make sure that the resource type is ORG and resource name the same as the replaced org(name of the folder, so don't do 1041). Did you do that too?

    Open the map with the door, click on menu and press edit script(Considering you are using Cave Editor, which I think you are using). It'll open the TSC script of the current map. I can't really explain TSC, I recommend to check out this and look at the already existing scripts in Cave Story.

    It sounds like a good idea to send the error to the e-mail in the error message(dunno wether they are still active or not, but whatever). While waiting, try copying a unhacked version of Cave Story and try to do the same steps that included OllyDbg.

    Pretty much why I gave up on that one SMW hack. It only contained one full (but kinda short for my feeling) stage and a redone Yoshi's Island map. I seem to be going way better with my CS mod though, maybe I improved.

    When you use full black (hex code #000000), CS will make it transparent. If you still see black, there must be a brigther black near the character. Try checking if there was a brighter shade of black in the image.

    Could Undertale actually be the next Cave Story?

    The darkest thing I can see in Cave Story is how the Doctor tries to take over the world by feeding flowers to cute bunny/dog-like beings to make them semi-scary and control them. Oh wait, that is pretty dark. Point is; I see Undertale being way more dark for several reasons.
