• Please stop embedding files/images from Discord. Discord has anti-hotlinking logic in place that breaks links to Discord hosted files and images when linked to from anywhere outside of Discord. There are a multitude of file/image hosting sites you can use instead.

    ASM can be needed to do more interesting things but the thing is that not everybody is capable of learning how to do it. It's valid in it's own right but some people are afraid people rather look at fancy custom weapons or mechanics than clever design.

    I'd probably still tell them to play the original version if it's their first time, I can't think of anything that needs to be enhanced, especially without taking away the original experience.

    I think the general point is that you should be modding vanilla cs, and not some custom engine or such so that it's more about modding cave story itself. Makes it a lot more accessible for the people that can learn TSC but dont have the time to do C or something. I doubt OP would have issues...
