Argh it's just a standard RPG element-type-thingy, you have to talk to the right NPC before the plot will advance. It's not a bug, and IMO it's nice that the player is allowed the ability to explore the Sand Zone without being forced to meet Curly until later.

Which is why almost every program ever made has bugs flying out the wazoo, right? :/

I've found this thread usually increases in activity when the forums are particularly bad and then dies down when things stabilise again. Still, that isn't really a way to get anything fixed properly... methinks a new thread is needed maybe, now that everything has been pretty much decided upon...

If I remember rightly there was a very big gap between the first and second updates as well. Of course, the forums also moved much more slowly back then so a year or two wasn't that long relatively. Personally I wouldn't think there was any point in doing as much work as he has done on this mod...
