Well it works for me when i save it as a 24 bit bitmap with paint, so why don't you try it to see if i'm lying? (note: i can also save .dat files this way, but idk how much good that would do me)

Is that your only problem? Where it asks what type you want to save it is, choose the bitmap of your choice (16 color, 256 color, 24 bit, etc.) and then just add .pbm at the end when saving. Paint will automatically save it as a pbm then.

Actually the only song that is from the cave story original (besides the title screen) was the first chapter music (gestation), which is probably filler until i find something suitable. Also, I find that about 70% of the time I can't get past the 2nd room (good GOD those things pick up speed)...

No, actually I was never planning to base it on the plot of Cave Story itself, but that's where everyone seemed to want to write about.... Tell you the truth I don't like messing too much with the "Cave Story world" pixel has built, as is reflected in my mods.

The reason I have no story is simply because, Im not so good at writing them (Meaning I want other's to help write them) Like take Andwhyisit's idea for example, I'd be up to making a mod like that. Yeah that sounds like a good idea. Write 'em down.

I would have LOVED to do that in this mod, but there's no script function for it, and short of writing in some assembly, its not happening :rolleyes:. Maybe I should write in some assembly....

so you added an npc(entity 241, a red critter) to a map, and then it crashed your .exe? wait, when your testing your game, did you click the "Save and Test" option from the file menu? That function doesn't work (which you might have noticed) but i don't think it does anything to the .exe ...

It won't break your game, only if you try to edit the .exe with sue's editor after editing it with cave editor (which I sometimes accidentally do, so i always make a backup of the .exe every now and then.) No function errors or sprite errors for me, maybe you just need to get used to it more...

also, is there any way to make it so that monsters won't drop missiles, even if you have the missile launcher?

kk, your going to need to be more specific. tell us exactly what your doing, step by step, with cave editor then tell us exactly the type of error that happens, how it happens, and if you can, post a screeny.

You haven't edited the game with both sue's workshop and cave editor, have you? If you do it tends to corrupt the doukutsu.exe, which would probably result in the error. Also, what operating system are you working on? (vista, xp, mac, etc.) it could be part of the problem.
