99.99% sure that you can't plug a negative value into a TSC command. The easiest way for money would still be to use a system similar to seriousface's money tutorial mod, http://www.cavestory.org/forums/threads/1047/. Any other method so far would require assembly hacking, which is hard stuff.

You should only get the "Her life signs are fading..." message if you've failed to drain curly. You need to try to drain her again, then take her with you. I doubt the game's glitching, since it's relatively bug-free, and it's been out forever. Try again to drain her.

I'm pretty sure that's just the error message. Check your error log, the problem is likely that it can not find ANY of it's needed graphics/spritesheets/tilesets. My guess is that even though you saved them all as bitmaps, you forgot to add "(C)Pixel" at the end, and if I'm not mistaken...

Actually I solved this error, it was because I pinned CE to the start menu and was running it from there. Putting a shortcut to CE in the startup menu solved the problem with TSC codes, as well as running it from it's folder directory.
